Dr. Lakshmi Prasanna and Michael Kokinos will speak about their work with children on the autism spectrum. In recognizing the global increase in Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and considering the many complex and often controversial questions surrounding ASD, Dr. Prasanna and Mr. Kokinos nevertheless keep the individuals affected at the center of their work. While children on the spectrum do have unique needs, they also provide us the opportunity to deepen our relationship to what it means to be human. In our modern life, governed as we are by institutionalized systems of education and medicine we need to regain this deeper aspect of being human. This is a topic for everyone. Please Come!
