The Otto Specht School Fund for the Accessibility and Affordability of Education
Educating a student with special needs can come at a staggering cost, and one that few families could afford outright even for one year. These are real costs that account for the teachers, therapists, paraprofessionals, and small class sizes necessary to help these children experience success; services these students are entitled to by law.
At Otto Specht School, it is our mission to meet our students based upon their therapeutic and educational needs regardless of their economic means. The Otto Specht School Fund for the Accessibility and Affordability of Education provides scholarships and tuition deferrals for many of our families.
On this #GivingTuesday please consider making your tax deductible contribution and providing the possibility of meaningful education for students who need and deserve a place to learn and grow.
The Otto Specht School began as a tiny program, integrated into the daily life of the Fellowship Community. Students worked in the kitchen and in the barn, the fields and the chicken coops. They ate lunches with the elderly members, and held assemblies and music recitals in Hilltop House surrounded by members and co-workers. With time and the growth of the school, things changed, but the connection remained strong, always. The past three and a half years, we have necessarily remained quite separate, waiting and wondering what the future may hold and seeking new ways to come together as partners in our work. We are excited to have found an opportunity to work together again to bring the very special Holiday Fair and Craft Sale back to our community. We hope that you will support this effort and all of the many ways Otto Specht School works to serve our students and our community.

The movement is transforming how people think, talk about, and participate in the giving season. Black Friday, Small Business Saturday, and Cyber Monday have become recognized days of holiday shopping. #GivingTuesday brings attention to philanthropy, donations, and kind actions - a movement we can really get behind!
