Yoav Liberman

Woodwork Teacher

Yoav Liberman has been designing and building furniture for over twenty years, blending craftsmanship, creativity, and a deep respect for materials. Trained as an architect, he began by creating modern, knock-down furniture and experimental hardware before discovering a passion for working with reclaimed wood and found materials. Over time, his work has grown to focus on original Judaica and the restoration of Jewish ritual objects — pieces that carry both beauty and meaning. His creations have been exhibited in museums and galleries around the country and featured in books such as Modern Judaica and Working Reclaimed Wood, which he authored. Alongside his studio work, he loves teaching and sharing his craft with others, helping students discover the connection between hands, tools, and ideas. He lives in Upper Saddle River, NJ, and teaches woodworking and design at the Rudolf Steiner School in Manhattan, Endeavor 21, and the Otto Specht School.
